All About Me!

        one life, one Chance …

I noticed that I never did a proper introduction when I started my blog! So today I wanted to share a few things about myself.

My name is Asia of course; I am a 21 year old student at Houston Baptist University currently studying Communication Broadcasting. I first started college at the University of Houston (where I met the most amazing people), and after looking for something more for myself I transferred to HBU.  I am a headstrong, sweet, outgoing introvert who has many dreams. I am the second oldest daughter out of four girls and I am very close with my family crazy and wild family, which is such a blessing.  I currently live here in spring, TX which is on the outskirts of Houston. I have lived here all of my life and I hope to one day move away for a little while. I will one day be on the big screen, I have always been a performer, and I do see myself as an actress and many other things very soon. So look out for me!

The name of my blog was inspired by my older brother who passed a few years ago. His name was Chance, and he literally lived every day of his life like it was his last. He wasn’t perfect but he enjoyed life while also doing whatever he could to help his family and even strangers. I came up with the phrase “one life, one Chance”, because even though his life was a bit short he lived his life as if every day was going to be his last. So, in honor of him I created a foundation which inspires young children, man and women to live each day as if it was their last, and to also provide whatever outlets that are needed for them to achieve a better life for themselves. I believe everyone should be given a chance, and I hope to be able to help provide that.

Any who, as of this moment I am striving to finish school so I can finally graduate very ( I am so tired of school), I am also looking to discover new projects, and grow spiritually in my relationship with God. I am also learning not to worry so much, let go, have fun, and be more selfless. I thank God for my family, my friends, and everything else all around me. I hope you can continue to enjoy my blogs!

Inspire the Body

A few days ago I talked about wanting to challenge myself to eat better by staying away from processed foods; I am so use to eating. I wanted to take on this challenge to not only encourage myself, but to also encourage all of you to make better lifestyle choices.  Eating, thinking, and being better individuals all works together to make the best versions of ourselves. I have attached some of fresh and healthy meal options below. Let me know what you think!

1. All about Breakfast

2. Lunch!

3. Dinner Time…

4. Save the best for last… Desserts

What to Eat?

Hey Everyone!

I hope all has been well. This week has started off pretty well for me. It has been kind of slow and steady in my daily life and I kind of like it for once. Any who, during my down time this week I have decided to challenge myself with something starting next week. I came across some information talking about the foods that most people consume daily. The presentation included some scientific information backing up how some of the foods we eat are harmful and can have negative effects on our bodies.  And since I am a huge science geek I researched this information and they had me sold!  By the way, If you want to try to prove something to me or want me to pay attention to a certain subject, add science into the mix!

Any who, the presentation began to explain the harmful effects processed food can have on the human body, and how most of the things we think are actually healthy in these packages are actually the things that are causing illnesses and massive weight gain. This got me thinking. I am not a person who eats badly at all. I am good at cutting back when I know I've over done it for a day, and I even exercise daily. But, when I realize how much processed foods my family and I actually consume. I wanted to change that as soon as possible.

I am always trying to better myself. So, I thought this is would be a good way to better myself from the inside out. I am starting this challenge next week, and I want to try and do this for 21 days straight in order for this to become a habit.  So, I am encouraging everyone to join this challenge with me to take all processed foods and drinks out of your diet so you and I can become better versions of our self. I know we can do it, and I am positive the effects will be well worth it!

                                                                                                               Much Love,
                                                                                                               Asia :)

The Cure

Image result for the cure book

I had the opportunity of ready a book called The Cure. I truly believe that this book alone was a blessing from God. It help bring me out of some tough times, and I was excited to share with others what I had learned. So, this is why I am sharing this with all of you today. I really hope you will take time to read this book, because it is certainly a life changer no matter where you are in life at this time.

The main purpose of this book was to introduce to the readers the ideal that “God isn't who we think He is, and neither are you”. This excerpt alone drew me in, and made me want to read this book. And, it seemed each time I would read a chapter I wanted keep on continuing on.The Cure allowed me to see and understand God in a new light. I was able to understand that God wanted so much more for me and did not expect perfection from me. I also gain the understanding that I did not know myself like I first believed. This book alone will open up the doors on how you see life and most importantly how you see yourself. This book allowed me to do just that, and I was even able to build a stronger relationship with God.

This book is beyond inspiring, and I hope and pray that this book can do the same for you as it did for me! J  I’ll leave the link for the book below! Tell me what you think!
                                                                                                                                      Much love,
                                                                                                                                       Asia J.:)

Valentine's Day?

I know this post is a little late, but I wanted to send some inspiration and hopefully encouraging words you all's way! So, here are a few rules I made up for this year’s Valentine’s Day.

Rule #1: Valentine's Day is only a holiday. It is not the day of “love”. You should strive to love each day.

Rule #2: If you don't have a Valentine, don't be upset! Again it's only a holiday. Try doing some of these ideals below.

Rule #3: Go to the movies, and eat tons of junk food!

Rule#4:  Lastly don't forget to love YOU!

Peace or Happiness?

Hey Everyone!

So I wanted to come with a, quick post today.  This week so far has been a slight struggle for me. I have been in the mood of not wanting to do a thing and feeling a little down. This week actually reminded me of a time when I would feel this way daily. I use to deal with depression which caused me to separate myself from everyone I loved, and from the things I use to love doing. And no matter what I tried to do to get out of this rut, something just kept pulling me back down!

With that being said, last night I happened to come across a girl’s video who shared her story on how she became happy. This video drew me in, because of the title alone. I wanted to know what she considered being happy. But, what I found as I watched her video is that her story was quite similar to mine, and it did inspire me. The only thing I didn't personally agree with is that she based her happiness on how her life had improved and what was going on at that time. Don’t get me wrong, I do believe that  improving  your life and having new things occurring in your life can  make you happy, because those are the things that did help me out of my depression a the beginning. I have grasped that being happy is temporary and only happens when something is "happening". I slowly understood that peace was what I truly needed to feel complete.

I wanted to share this with you all, because I believe many individuals  go through some kind of depression and feeling down at least one time in their life, and sometimes knowing that you’re not alone can help you get the boost you need to get out of that hole. Even though my week started off a little uneasy and down, I thank God for blessing me to see another day. Days like this remind me of the situation I went through and still fall back into sometime, and I encourage myself to remember that I am worthy and God put me on this earth to do amazing things.
So check out the link below and let me know what you think. Do you believe happiness is what we should truly search for or do you believe that peace is something that we should actually strive for? You only have one life one Chance, so what’s the best option?

Much love,
Asia
