I am not one to speak on whats going on in the media, but this past week there has been quite a bit that has been going on. For instance the Baltimore riots has been a huge thing that has been in discussion. Citizens of Baltimore decided to riot, because of a young man that was killed by the police and for the many other lives that has been lost in police brutality. After looking into the actually situation itself, I have definitely developed some opinions.
There has been a lot of issues with police brutality lately, and it seems that it has been majority black american individuals as victims and it's a sad and unfortunate reality. With the justice system that America is "suppose" to have, it seems that it's not doing what it was developed to do. After the death of the young man in Baltimore. Many individual became angry and started to destroy their neighborhoods and stores. Now, I understand that they were angry and wanted to be heard. I totally get that. We have a voice and we should use it, but they did not use it in the correct way.
God has blessed each and everyone of us with intelligence and He has even given Americans freedoms that many other do not have. We have the freedom to speak our mind, but why don't we make officials hear us in a positive manner. I feel as though those individuals did a very unintelligent thing when they destroyed THEIR neighborhood to make everyone hear them. They do not understand that no body heard why they were doing it, people just seen a group of individuals acting like animals. Especially for my black community, I wish we as a whole would take lessons from people such as Martin Luther King Jr and many other beautiful individuals on how to make our country hear us in a positive and nonviolent manner.
Those police men who hurt that man deserve to be punished, because ALL lives matter and we all deserve respect no matter what mistakes we have made. I just pray everyone can learn from this event and choose to do better in the future. Any who! let me know your take on this matter!
Much Love,
Asia :)
