True Contentment


“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.” (Philippians 4:12)

For a while I have been praying and fasting to better understand where God wants me to be. Through that fasting and prayer I realized something interesting. I realized that it wasn't my job to figure out what God wanted from me. It wasn't my job to try and dissect my own life, order my own steps, and decide how I wanted things to be. That job belongs to God, and it only belongs to Him, and somewhere in the midst of things I forgot about that.

The scripture that became dear to me, and also began to help me understand this was Philippians 4:12. This very simple, but power verse is in written by the Apostle Paul where he goes to explain that he is content in every aspect of his life. This verse speaks volumes, and still today has helped me. I had to realize that it is not for me to try and decide where I should be and where I should go. Don’t get me wrong, God gives us the power to plan, but He wants to be the one that orders our steps. He wants us to listen for His voice telling us when to move, how far to go, and even to sometimes stand still. This concept is sometimes hard to grasp, because we as humans want to be in control at all times. But with careful thinking and remembering to ask God before doing anything can save us so time and heartache.

I am in the process of being content, and even though I still ask a lot of question to God. I’m beginning to enjoy this stage in my life. I am hearing Him loud and clear. And some days I hear nothing but silence, but it’s a silence that is graced with the presence of the Holy Spirit. I am far from perfect, but daily I am growing in Him and I want nothing more than to continue that. I thank Him for contentment, and I hope to help others to one day grasp that also. You only have one life, one Chance, so make the best out of it.

Bruce  Jenner's transformation into a woman has been a huge topic in the media. As a Christian, I did not know how to speak on this topic, because even though I do know it's wrong I didn't want to be quick to judge, because I know that it's a type of sickness and curse that he has to work through. As a Christian I know it's our job to love individuals in this instance. So, what do you think about this situation, and how do you as a Christian think we should handle situations such as these?

I am not one to speak on whats going on in the media, but this past week there has been quite a bit that has been going on. For instance the Baltimore riots has been a huge thing that has been in discussion. Citizens of Baltimore decided to riot, because of a young man that was killed by the police and for the many other lives that has been lost in police brutality. After looking into the actually situation itself, I have definitely developed some opinions.

There has been a lot of issues with police brutality lately, and it seems that it has been majority black american individuals as victims and it's a sad and unfortunate reality. With the justice system that America is "suppose" to have, it seems that it's not doing what it was developed to do. After the death of the young man in Baltimore. Many individual became angry and started to destroy their neighborhoods and stores. Now, I understand that they were angry and wanted to be heard. I totally get that. We have a voice and we should use it, but they did not use it in the correct way.

God has blessed each and everyone of us with intelligence and He has even given Americans freedoms that many other do not have. We have the freedom to speak our mind, but why don't we make officials hear us in a positive manner. I feel as though those individuals did a very unintelligent thing when they destroyed THEIR neighborhood to make everyone hear them. They do not understand that no body heard why they were doing it, people just seen a group of individuals acting like animals. Especially for my black community, I wish we as a whole would take lessons from people such as Martin Luther King Jr and many other beautiful individuals on how to make our country hear us in a positive and nonviolent manner.

Those police men who hurt that man deserve to be punished, because ALL lives matter and we all deserve respect no matter what mistakes we have made. I just pray everyone can learn from this event and choose to do better in the future. Any who! let me know your take on this matter!

Something Random for the Weekend

Hey everyone! I don’t have much to say today! It’s Friday and I have had a very busy week. This was my second week of my new job and I feel as though I am slowly getting use to things around here. I am honestly enjoying it here thus far, and I hope I continue to (My track record with work is a little crazy). Any who, I known I have spoken a lot about bettering myself, and also working hard to get out and live. I can honestly say that I am doing better. I haven’t done much of anything, but I do see how free and fulfilling it can be to try to live for once.

So, what do you have planned for the weekend? Is your weekend going to be all work, play, or a little bit of both? I know mines is a lot of work and I do get to have a little fun which makes it all better. Also, there’s a lot that I am still worried about, but I am learning to pray more about filling my spirit with positive things and giving my worries to God. I believe that its working and that things should get better as time goes on.

Welp! I know this was a totally random post, but who cares right? Any ways if I can give you something to take with you today, don’t forget to live, love, and be you this weekend. That might not sound like much, but I feel as though those few things can make a difference!

Take A Chance This Summer

My goals for this summer? Hmm… I honestly can’t tell you what I want to do or expect. I know I will be doing some working, but I won’t only be doing that for sure. I’m sure I’ll be looking forward to the upcoming pageant that I will be a part of! And, also figuring out my next route to finishing school. Of course, I can’t forget about having some fun and adventures! Below I listed some day trip ideals, places to travel, and events that will be going on in Texas this summer that you can explore. Even if you live out of state, some of these ideals can still help you find little things to do in the summer. Hope it helps!

Open Your Heart



It’s a struggle and simply impossible to have a perfect relationship, but as time goes on I feel as though I just simple fail at relationships. Especially when it has to do with a relationship with a significant other. I seem to never get it right, but after some self-evaluation. I think I have found the possible problem, and I think I can shed some light on some of those issues and help others with the same problem.

I had my first boyfriend when I was 18, and I simply thought that relationship failed due to the lack of communication, and that it possibly wasn't meant to be. But, as soon as I met my amazing and EVER so patience boyfriend. I started to realize some familiar and unconscious actions that I would make in my relationship, and they weren't healthy.
You see, I am a person that has been known to not let many people into my world. I would always keep people at a distance and only allow them to come close, but not too close. So, with that being said. I also brought that behavior into my relationship, and many know if you’re not open in your relationship. It cannot continue to grow, and that’s what occurred.

I have made a conscious decision to work on myself so that I won’t continue to push away my boyfriend. It’s easier said than done, but I truly believe if I work hard enough that will change. I know now that communication is very important, and it is also extremely important to remember to talk about the things that you don’t feel comfortable or have questions about. This rule is not only for people in relationships with significant others, but this goes for all relationships. All relationships take work, and if you can take anything from this post today. Remember to stay open to the one’s you love, learn to trust, and don’t be afraid of getting hurt. You only have one life, one Chance so make the best of everything you can in life.
